Grass Tree

A highly prized specimen plant in any Native Plant garden. The Grass Tree, as opposed to popular belief, is really quite fast growing in so far as growing a full-sized grass-head goes.The one in the picture here is only about 10 years old and had developed its grass head in around 5 to 6 years! What does take time to grow is the trunk, so beware of buying a grass tree with a trunk - it will have been taken out of the bush (with a certificate or not).This variety grows a flower spike up to 3 metres high and is covered with masses of nectar filled white flowers in Spring.Birds love them!
