Cider Gum (Eucalyptus gunnii) $5.25

Fast growing tree but can be pruned to maintain as a shrub or hedge if desired. Juvenile foliage is rounded, waxy and blue in colour and is used in flower arrangements. White flowers occur during summer. The early settlers used the sap to make an alcoholic drink by cutting into the trunk and collecting the sap, which is similar to Maple syrup, the sap was used as syrup or once bottled and capped it fermented and produced a drink similar to cider.
